As part of the Building Builders Mentorship Program, Power Engineering student Emeka Ajah from Coastal Mountain College was matched with LNG Canada Mentor Quinlan Harris.
This Mentee-Mentor partnership gave Emeka the opportunity to gain firsthand industry insight from a seasoned professional working on large-scale energy and infrastructure projects. His experience is a strong example of how mentorship can bridge the gap between education and practical application in a meaningful and impactful way.
Here’s what Emeka had to say about his mentorship experience:
“The program helped me better understand how power engineers fit into large-scale industrial and infrastructure projects—from equipment installation and commissioning to safety protocols and energy efficiency requirements. One of my main goals was to gain a clearer understanding of how power engineering applies in real-world construction and industrial settings, and this program delivered that. I had the opportunity to learn directly from my Mentor Quinlan. Through the program, I was able to connect with experienced professionals in the power engineering and construction sectors. The Building Builders Mentorship Program has been an incredible experience, and I’m truly grateful for the opportunity.”
