Mohammad Navak, BCCA Building Builders Mentee

Finding Belonging Through Mentorship

When electrician Mohammad Navak joined the BCCA Building Builders Mentorship Program, he brought with him 13 years of electrical experience from his home country and a strong desire to continue building his career in Canada.

Paired with mentor Abbas Jalili Karvansaraei, Mohammad received not only practical support to complete his tool set, but also the encouragement and guidance that helped him feel connected and confident as he established himself in BC’s construction industry.

“I would like to sincerely thank you for your support and guidance on this journey. Over the past two years in Canada, I have been able to learn and grow in many ways. I hope to contribute my knowledge and skills to the Canadian construction industry and also share my experience with others who wish to enter this field… Thank you for standing by me and not letting me feel alone in this process. I look forward to continuing to work with the amazing Building Builders team.”

Mohammad’s story reflects the heart of Building Builders: mentorship that empowers individuals, strengthens careers, and creates a welcoming construction community.
